Field Stripping and Maintenance
Use the Ball-End Hex L-Key 3/32″ Size to remove the rear #8-32 x 1” button head machine screws from the rear of the butt stock adapter. The fit between this adapter and the chassis will be tight and may require a gentle wiggle to pull it free. Once the stock and its adapter is clear you can then pull the bolt free from the receiver. Reinstall the bolts with a torque of 20 in-pds and the use of a blue thread locker.

Adjusting the Stock
The stock has (4) #8-32 x ⅝ socket head machine screws at the rear. They can be loosened using the Hex L-Key 9/64” to allow for adjustment of the butt plate angle, length of pull and tilt to fit the pocket of the shooter. When tightening the screws down be careful to not over torque. Just tighten until the stock stays in position on the carbon fiber tube. Overtightening could cause the crushing of the tube or damage to the tube adapter.

The carbon fiber tube can be trimmed for a shorter length for shooters that require even a shorter length of pull. Wrap the tube in masking tape and place it in a miter box to cut it square with a wood saw.

Flipping the Charging Handle
The charging handle is integrated into the bolt on the Mantis MK IV using 3 components: 3/16 x #8-32 set screw, 1-¼ x #8-32 socket head cap screw, glass filled nylon charging handle. You first must remove the locking set screw on the opposite side of the bolt using the Hex L-Key 5/64”. You can now remove the socket head cap screw using the Hex L-Key 9/64”. Reverse this operation for reassembly with the use of a blue thread locker. The set screw should be torqued to 20 in-pds.

Warnings
The Chassis, Rail and Handguard are intended to remain in place and not to be disassembled by the end user. These parts are an extremely tight fit, with permanent high temperature adhesives and disassembly of the chassis may cause damage.
